Work Experience
• November 2008 – Current: Pharmacist Intern: Hospital Pharmacy, experience includes; Verifying and assisting with the work performed by Pharmacy Techs-to verify the stock of drugs, Intravenous (IV) fluids, Cart fill (24 hour drug supply) and packaging.
• Filling and verifying anesthesia trays, C-II (Controlled Schedule-II) boxes that were stocked in in-patient and out-patient surgery units, and C-section boxes for labor and delivery unit, crash carts.
• Skilled at mixing IV fluids and Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) using Simplify 797 and delivering the narcotics, inventory management and floor inspections.
• I have worked independently on projects that significantly reduced missing medications in various units of the hospital and worked on clarifying reports provided by doctors and nurse practitioners for clarifications on prescriptions and on drug formulary for the Hospital’s Pharmacy website.
• Experience working with the advanced technology of Med-Carousel, Acudose, Mckesson software.

Feb 2007- Dec 2007: Chemist I: Experience working in research and development (R&D) in Coldstream Laboratories Inc. Worked on Niadyne 112 (dodecyl nicotinate), Niadyne 114 (Myristyl nicotinate) and Nicotinic acid. Experience includes carrying out stability studies, in-process tests of drugs using HPLC assays; writing validation protocols and the reports for each drug following GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice). Validation includes the following tests, Specificity, Linearity, Accuracy and Precision, Detection and Quantification limit, Robustness, Ruggedness, Filter studies, system suitability (which is carried out for every experiment to check the status of the equipment) and Stability studies. Developing HPLC methods for new drugs under the supervision; miscellaneous activities include receiving the materials, writing the SOP’s.

Nov 2005- Jan 2006: Internship: Worked on antibacterial effect of Lo Han Kuo for three months in the Department of Dentistry, University of Kentucky.

Jun 2005- Jul 2005: Internship: Wanbury Pharma Ltd, Navi Mumbai, India, in the Quality Control and Regulatory Affairs. Experience includes, preparing the documentation work.

Oct 2004- May 2005: Internship: Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Kentucky. Experience includes, carrying out in vitro skin diffusion studies, at various concentrations and times and analyzing by HPLC and then comparing the HPLC and NIR analysis for a better performance. Diffusion rates of 4-Cyanophenol and Econazole nitrate were determined for an effective absorption by using various times and concentrations. Also have a basic idea of how LC MS works.
