Solaris OS Development Test Engineer from September 2010 to June 2011:

-Verify latest storage utilities code for Solaris 11 development.
-Verify Solaris FMA (Fault Management Architecture) on various Oracle servers and storage devices including x7120, x7210, x7420, 7720 Appliances, T2000, T3-1, T5220, x4140, x4200, and x4270 Oracle servers.
-Test lead for various test projects, developed and executed test cases, filed bug reports, worked with developers to isolate and resolve bugs.
-Installed, configured, maintained lab test equipment including Solaris and Windows Servers, Fibre Channel, SAS, SCSI, storage HBAs, jbods, and arrays as well as Fibre Channel Brocade and Qlogic switches.

-Verify interoperability between supported Operating Systems and various HBAs and their connectivity to supported storage devices including the following: Windows 2008, RHEL, OEL, SUSE, Solaris, Emulex and Qlogic HBAs, X2000 and X4000 servers.

Integrated System Test (April 2005 to October 2009):

-Test lead for the Serviceability Practices Lab.
-Architected methodology, test requirements, test cases, test reports, and test plans of serviceability testing of storage products.
-Worked with Serviceability engineering organization to refine and develop product requirements for storage.
-Worked with Storage support organization to improve test procedures and discover real world storage issues seen in the field.
-Wrote test plans and test cases for new storage disk products including both SAN, NAS, CAS, and SAS devices.
-Wrote and delivered presentations to management about test results and recommended solutions.
-Evaluated service documents such as Getting Started Guides and Troubleshooting Guides for technical accuracy and clarity and gave recommendations for improvement.
-Wrote bugs about documentation errors and system bugs.
-Worked with technical writers and engineering to resolve both documentation bugs and system bugs.

-Directed and executed the testing of the storage products.

TSE3 (September 2000 to June 2004):

-Provided technical phone support for customers and Sun field service engineers with installation and troubleshooting of all of Sun’s storage hardware and software products numbering over 100 products including:

-Fibre channel SAN connectivity devices such as Ancor, Mcdata, Brocade, and Sun bridges, switches, directors, hubs, JNI, Emulex, and Sun HBA’s, and cabling.
-Tape storage software and hardware including Veritas Netbackup and Volume Manager, Solstice Backup, STK and Sun Storedge tape libraries, drives, and stackers.
-Disk storage devices including Hitachi 9900 series arrays, and all of Sun’s Storedge line of SCSI and fibre channel, T3, 6130, 6140, 6540, arrays, disks, HBA’s, and all drivers and patches for these devices.
-Storage management software including Hitachi Remote Console, and Sun Component Manager, and StorAde.

-Worked with the team that developed and wrote the Sun Certified Storage Architect certification exam in November 2001, a fibre channel technology exam.
-Was nominated for Stars, (a performance related award), once in 2001 and twice in 2002.
-Have several customer letters on file commending my expertise in assisting them.
-Senior resource that acted in a “backline” role assisting other engineers with problem resolution.

StorageTek (March 1999 to September 2000):

Supported field engineers and customers with the troubleshooting, isolating, and resolving problems with the following:

-Fibre channel SANs hardware and connectivity including Brocade 3200, 3100 bridges, Brocade 4xxx switches, Brocade access hubs, Clariion 91xx disk arrays, STK 9175 (Sun T300), and 9176 disk arrays, as well as JNI and Emulex hba's in Unix and NT servers.
