Network/Firewall Administrator – Network/Firewall Engineer

- Was promoted to Lead Network Administrator within a year, interviewed and then recommended next four Network Administrators all of which are excelling at current positions. Provided leadership, knowledge transfer and mentoring. Was promoted to Network Engineer the following year and took charge of the network in its entirety.
- Upgraded unmanaged 3Com network to a managed all Cisco solution which included 2960’s etherchanneled to a 3750 switchstack which provided redundancy. Introduced Rapid Spanningtree, QoS, VLANS, new IP Schema and TACACS authentication, authorization and accountability.
- Designed and Engineered network at new Datacenter; Switch Communications SuperNAP in Las Vegas. This included redundant Nexus 7K’s, 5585x ASA’s, dual gig circuits with EIGRP load balancing between three locations. Setup vPC’s which connect to dual ASA’s and dual Cisco UCS/VMWare chassis.
- Upgraded 6509’s at failover corp site to a Nexus 7K, 2 Nexus 5K and 4 2k’s. Installed an ASA5585x and configured SSL VPN to replace Checkpoint firewalls.
- Installed and configured FatPipe Warp units at primary and failover sites. Dual ISP’s on each.
- Migrated critical data center which included backbone network redesign and optimization, physically move and coordinate between GCA and vendors. There was no downtime during this major migration.
- Designed, installed, and supported LAN/WAN networking devices, network circuits, and VPN/IPsec implementations at remote customer sites.
- Operated and maintained network performance and monitoring tools including Solar Winds Orion (network monitoring,network config management and NetFlow), NetMRI, TACACS and ACS

- Administered Windows AD, RADIUS, DHCP, DNS, WINS and Certificate Authority
- Assisted in design and installation of Cisco Gigabit Ethernet replacing all 3Com ATM/Ethernet switches, redesigned DHCP and migrated all nodes to new scheme
- Designed, built and maintained multiple IPSEC tunnels for remote locations and for securing communications between gaming systems within the enterprise network using 16 Cisco 2621’s setup in a failover configuration using HSRP/IPSEC

- Built and administered a Globalscape Encrypted File Transfer server to automate secured file transfers to Healthcare Providers and Banks utilizing sFTP and FTPS
- Installed, configured and administered IPSCAN to protect vital network segments from unauthorized access at Layer 2 and eliminate IP/MAC/NetBIOS naming conflicts and IP conflicts and spoofs
- Designed, installed and administered 8 Checkpoint Firewalls to segment gaming and wireless networks in a redundant fashion and to firewall the Internet and DMZ’s
- Designed, installed and administered 10 Cisco PIX 501’s to physically separate, tunnel and encrypt traffic for a live Keno system. This allowed the vendor to remotely monitor and allowed the public (Keno Players) to watch games live from 8 different casinos safely and securely.
- Design and implemented two special purpose vlans. One for Vendors and one for visitors. Cisco 515’s were used at each site to firewall, encapsulate the traffic and provide NAT. One network would simply provide PAT and the other would assign public addresses for special cases. No exposure to the Coporate Network.
- Administered TACACS and Rendition Networks Configuration management software
- Installed and administered MS Proxy and ISA with Surf Control/Web Sense to monitor and restrict 2000+ users
- Administered Cisco 3005 VPN Concentrator for remote users, tunnels to remote locations and intermittent vendor support
- Managed all External Digital Certificates and public domain names for Stations Casinos
