PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Structural Analysis Engineer 1, The Boeing Company October 2012 – Present

T-45 Service Life Extension Program November 2014 – Present
Provided structural analysis reports on various parts of the T-45 forward fuselage to maintain and extend the structural integrity of T-45 Goshawk trainer aircraft currently used by the United States Navy. Major responsibilities include analyzing suggested repairs from coarse-grid finite element modeling data using PATRAN while collaborating with the design team to send the customer a structural repair kit to be applicable for any ship in the fleet.

F/A-18 Service Life Extension Program October 2012 – July 2013, May 2014 – November 2014
Provided structural analysis reports on various parts of the F/A-18 wing to maintain and extend the structural integrity of F/A-18 aircraft currently used by the United States Navy. Identified previously cracked parts on the wing and suggested appropriate repairs to prevent the Navy from unnecessarily scrapping currently used aircraft and incurring additional costs by purchasing new aircraft.

Submitted strength engineering reports demonstrating stress levels at critical crack locations obtained using finite element modeling software Mechanica and PATRAN while analyzing the effects of suggested repair procedures by modifying the FEMs to reflect the repairs.

Improved and streamlined analysis processes, including verifying existing finite element models, in order to send in acceptable analysis packages while keeping within budget costs and schedule, ensuring continued business contracts worth $150 million.

F/A-18 Post-Production Support July 2013 – May 2014
Supported Navy fleets by submitting salvage action dispositions to repair nonconformances on the F/A-18 wing. Nonconformances included delaminations on the composite skins, impact damage, and lug cracks on hinges. Established precedence for repairs to provide a maximum acceptable nonconformance size that would be repaired using the appropriate procedure, reducing the number of repair dispositions sent to post-production support.

Consolidated knowledge of accepted analysis packages, including outlining common engineering dispositions and analysis procedures to provide adequate repairs, increasing throughput of salvage actions by over 25% and saving an estimated 200 labor hours by reducing analytical reference errors and time committed to mentor new analysts.
