Project Management support for the implementation of ergonomic, health and safety interventions
Responsible for ergonomic, health and safety hazard abatement and mishap prevention project validation, planning, execution, implementation and follow-up in an effort to support ‘One Navy’
Managed up to 25 occupational safety and health projects annually, sites were located world-wide but primarily in the western United States
o Projects ranged from simple, introduce new equipment, to complex; engineering support from concept through design, proto-type, and final product testing and sign-off
Assisted with the administration of a $2,000,000 annual budget
Negotiated alternative loss control action plans with management, health care professional, and supervisors
Monitored long term occupational exposures
Interpreted, documented and ensured compliance to federal, state and site specific regulations and standards within the scope of each project
Education
Developed, maintain and currently instruct the Navy’s Ergonomic Program Course (A-493-0085)

o Formulate written recommendations with cost justification, incident aversion and return on investment projections
o Model human biomechanical capabilities to assess the risk of injury

Assist with Navy Occupational Safety and Health policy development
Document and develop ergonomic best practices
Research and respond to questions regarding standards and regulations as well as common ergonomic and safety practices
Provided support as a technical adviser to the Navy Ergonomic Working Group (disbanded 2013)
Participated in real time study of the Marines Auxiliary Instructional Battery (AIB) Call for Fire exercise to determine the factors related to mental and physical risk factors during high hazard conditions – publication pending
