Aug. 2012 – Present Project: Evaluation of Scour Potential of Cohesive Soils (Alabama DOT)
Conduct tests with an erosion function apparatus to quantify scour functions of various clays and chalks to be used as bridge foundations throughout the state of Alabama
Analyze and interpret functions to correlate scour to different geotechnical soil properties
Mechanically redesign erosion function apparatus so as to diversify its use amongst harder clays

Aug. 2012 – Present Project: Environmental Engineering Research for the City of Orange Beach, AL
Analyze long-term effects from the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill on Alabama’s beaches; quantitatively assess the effectiveness of British Petroleum’s (BP’s) method for restoring beaches
Design and construct equipment for collecting subsurface oil mat samples in the Gulf of Mexico Scuba diver to supervise sampling runs; Research vessel captain

Aug. 2012 – Dec. 2012 Project: Alabama Solid Waste Mgmt. Study – Landfill Application Process/Recycling (ADEM)
