WPCF Reuse Pump Station Project and BMWRC Decommissioning Project
City of Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Nevada | 2012 – Current
Engineering Manager. Engineering manager responsible for preparation and coordination for the pre-design and final design elements of a new reuse water pump station at the Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) and the decommissioning of the Bonanza-Mojave Water Resource Center (BMWRC). The new reuse water pump station will serve the existing reuse water customer previously served by the BMWRC as well as other potential reuse water customers having an ultimate demand of 3 mgd. Reuse customers will be supplied by a direct pumped pressurized supply system. The pre-design included technical memoranda evaluating alternatives for the reuse pipeline alignment, an evaluation of service area demands and reuse pump station alternatives, a review of reuse water regulatory requirements and water quality, and decommissioning of the BMWRC, a 5 MG advanced wastewater treatment plant including an oxidation ditch, clarifier, filtration system, and UV disinfection. Detailed design of the reuse water pump station includes four 820 gpm vertical turbine pumps with 125 hp variable frequency drives, two 150 gpm vertical turbine pumps with 20 hp variable frequency drives, a wetwell, surge control system, building refurbishment, plant piping and BMWRC decommissioning, construction/operation sequencing and cost estimating.

C1383 Fayle Reservoir Electrical Upgrades and Reservoir Rehabilitation
Las Vegas Valley Water District, Las Vegas, Nevada | 2013 – Current
Engineering Manager. Responsible for preparation and coordination of civil/mechanical design and overall discipline design coordination for the project. Reservoir improvements include floor liner replacement, rehabilitation of aluminum roof panels and structural framing, new access hatches, roof walkway access, and water quality monitoring upgrades. Project elements include overflow pipe modifications, energy dissipater structure, reservoir underdrain collection pump station, valve vault modifications, line stop, buried valving and compressed air system for existing surge tanks. Electrical upgrades include replacement of the 2300 Zone 480-Volt MCC, new control system and new impressed current system for the reservoir. Additional project design elements include technical drainage study, acoustical modeling, sustainable design concepts, and electrical upgrade of one pump zone motor control center and instrumentation and control designs.

Integrated Pipeline Project Phase II
Tarrant Regional Water District, City of Dallas, Texas | Nov 2012 – Current
Project Engineer. Major project design components include over 28 miles of 108-inch cross country pipeline rated at of 347 MGD and turnout facilities with 108-, 90-, 84-, 72- and 60–inch yard piping. Responsibilities have included determining pipe class boundaries based on hydraulic profile and performing steel pipeline calculations including cylinder thickness (internal pressure and handling), deflection, buckling, weld thickness, floatation, tee reinforcement and thrust restraint. Responsibilities have also included preparation of 60% design specifications and pipeline detail development.
Lloyd W. Michael Water Treatment Plant Regulatory Compliance Upgrade Project Cucamonga Valley Water District, Rancho Cucamonga, CA | Mar 2012 – Nov 2012
Project Engineer. The existing water treatment plant requires upgrades to meets current and future regulatory compliance requirements. Project components includes the design of new granular activitated carbon (GAC) basins, ultraviolet light (UV) trains, equalization basins, a hydro-electric facility, a 8.0 MG pre-stressed concrete reservoir, concrete evaporation ponds, a 9 MGD raw water Rate of Flow Control (ROFC) facility and associated yard piping. Responsibilities included the design and development of construction drawings and details, performance specifications, hydraulic calculations and design coorindation for the 9 MGD ROFC.
Paradise-Whitney Sewer Interceptor Package No. 1 Final Design
Clark County Water Reclamation District, Las Vegas, Nevada | Feb 2012 – Current
Project Engineer. Project Engineer for final design of 27,400 feet of 60-inch diameter sewer interceptor, along with minor 12- and 15-inch ancillary sewer segments. Project elements included basis of design report, hydraulic modeling, deep sewer interceptor design up to 30 feet deep through City streets and preparation of final contract drawings, specifications and cost estimating.
