Resume

Spacecraft Engineering Experience
• Evaluated discrepancies between the burnout times of the Space Shuttle Solid Rocket Boosters which caused torques, tracing the problem back to the manufacturing process and working to ensure that an appropriate solution was reached
• Demonstrated a detailed understanding of the systems and subsystems which made up the Space Shuttle Program from the perspective of Safety and Mission Assurance
• Worked as the Systems Engineer for the design of a Lunar rover mission, implementing sound spacecraft engineering principles to ensure that the overall design of the spacecraft was feasible and met all requirements
• Explored the possible synergy between a Mars mission and a Lunar mission in an effort to determine how funding for the two missions could be best utilized for both missions in order to realize the most scientific return from the overall project
• Developed the mission design of a research mission to Mars, establishing the necessary orbital maneuvers for orbital insertion and transfer to the science orbit using a plasma thruster through the utilization of a Martian High-Precision Orbital Propagator that was developed for this research

Systems Engineering Experience
• Performed analysis of the intricacies of systems in order to determine the effectiveness of implementing changes to those systems in an effort to enhance their combined capabilities
• Developed scenario models to establish whether system test requirements could be met for multiple systems acting in conjunction toward a common goal
• Verified system software requirements through testing and analysis, which ultimately led to two successful demonstrations of the software in the performance of the complete system
• Determined that a modeling method was producing inaccurate results and worked to correct that modeling method by comparing the results to an established method, thereby developing the capability to produce accurate results in a more time-efficient manner
• Worked to establish an understanding of the engineering which went into the design of the Space Shuttle and utilized that understanding to assess safety implications for those systems, including the interaction of systems with other systems
• Coordinated the efforts of multiple engineers as the Systems Lead for a Lunar mission, demonstrating skill as a systems engineer by combining the input of other engineers to build a complete system design which met the established system requirements

Management Experience
• Represented the Scenario Design Team at a meeting in which the complicated details of future scenario design requirements were discussed and provided the details of that meeting to the team in order that those requirements could be implemented into the work process
• Oversaw the development of multiple design products which required attention to the details of an array of documents in order to ensure that the finished products met the needs of the customer so that it was clear how the requirements had been evaluated and the results of those evaluations
• Served as the Console Lead on multiple occasions, working to lead a team of two or three additional engineers sitting on the Safety Console of the Mission Evaluation Room (MER) during Space Shuttle missions in order to evaluate the safety implications of various aspects of the mission and provide necessary feedback to the MER Manager, and ultimately the Flight Director
• Evaluated the design selections of the components of a robotic Lunar mission being designed as part of an experimental NASA program, working closely with a number of engineers to ensure that the final spacecraft design met the necessary mission requirements while still being within the established design constraints
• Provided leadership and guidance to a team of 10-15 students while working as the Mission Design Lead for a NASA Space Grant mission to Mars, providing the basics of orbital mechanics and evaluating the design choices that were made in order to provide weekly status updates to the other mission teams with the relevant data for planning the spacecraft design

Employment History
• Systems Engineer Staff (Level-4), Lockheed Martin Information Systems and Global Solutions June 2014-present
o Performed investigations for proposed Missile Defense System upgrades and changes, including developing modeling parameters and complex data analysis of the modeling results.
• Systems Engineer Senior (Level-3), Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company October 2012-June 2014
o Performed detailed effectiveness analysis of multiple components of the BMDS, developing and executing tools to model the behavior of the BMDS.
o Utilized MATLAB code and Linux-based shell scripts as part of the MEADS BMC4I Analysis Team carrying out regression verification of hardware and software requirements to demonstrate system effectiveness in support of two successful Flight Tests.
o Developed test scenarios for testing of the MEADS BMC4I software, and exercised those scenarios for the collection of data for further analysis.
• Modeling and Simulation Engineer, Millennium Engineering and Integration Company October 2011-August 2012
o Implemented technical planning while developing C++ computer code to convert multiple different types of trajectory files into the two necessary formats for customer analysis prior to a Flight Test, generating solutions meeting strict formatting guidelines in order to fulfill customer requirements.
• Aerospace Engineer II, Science Applications International Corporation May 2009-October 2011
o Demonstrated a propensity for learning quickly to aid in the areas of trajectory analysis and infrared signatures modeling and analysis for Missile Defense Agency threats, as well as MDA EKV interceptor and GMD analysis in STK and GMDSim.
o Recognized that the method being employe...
