Engineering Intern
• Managed a project that included duties such as: Lead contact for customer (Toyota), overseeing all progress on countermeasures for customer issues, assisted problem solving to propose sufficient countermeasures, evaluated any trial results, coordinated countermeasure trials and progress review discussions with the customer.
• Developed and implemented a standardized procedure to test paint adhesion to rubber hoses. Utilized this standard for trials on a customer issue that lead to a process change and solved the customer issue.
• Directed improvement trials for the shelf life and storage of in house mixed rubber.
• Trained in problem solving techniques for investigating and fixing various production issues.
• Assigned to a project that quality tested and assembled finished brake hoses. Identified a flaw in the process that caused defects. Designed a low-cost and dependable solution that was applied in all 50+ fixtures that lead to future cost savings with a lowered defect rate.
• Gained skills and experience in solid works and testing rubber for Mooney viscosity, scorch, tensile strength, elongation, cure rate, hardness, and specific gravity.
• Routinely presented project results to management through use of excel and various other computer aided programs when needed.
