EXPERIENCE
Microscale Sensing Actuation and Imaging (MoSAIc) Research Experience for Undergraduates Intern
Iowa State University, Summer 2012
Assisted in the design and construction of a Microflow Cytometer Prototype meant to count organisms on the microscopic level.
Created a LabVIEW program in order to collect and analyze the data.
Took initiative in building a signal amplifier to obtain enhanced results.
Gave weekly updates to research advisor concerning status of experiment, unexpected results, and possible improvements to be made.

Laboratory Assistant, Gustavus Physics Department, September 2011-May 2013
Responsible for the setup weekly labs and maintenance equipment.
Acted as a resource for students to:
Answer questions regarding lab procedure and concepts.
Troubleshoot equipment problems that arose before and during the duration of the lab.
Entrusted by professors to evaluate the quality of students’ laboratory techniques and understanding of course material.

COUSRE PROJECTS
Tire Removal Mechanism
Led a team in the design and development of a six bar mechanism prototype that would assist in the removal of a spare tire from the trunk of a car.
Individually created a Matlab program that synthesized the mechanism based on the theory of path generation with prescribed timing and was optimized using the theory of optimum transition angle.
Assisted in the construction of a working prototype.

Cross Section Diffuser Design
Led a team in the optimization of the cross sectional shape of a diffuser in order to minimize the loss of energy while traveling at supersonic speeds by the use of implementing oblique shocks into the system.
Individually created a Matlab program that implemented the Newton-Raphson numerical method to optimize the defection angles at two consecutive locations.

Computer Simulation for Optimal Cooling
Developed a simulation that consisted of a combined fluid flow heat transfer system
Individually created a Fortran program that implemented the MacCormack Method to determine the ideal position of a block in order to ...
